Our STORY

Artists Lead. Artists Document the Stories of our Time. Artists Hold Space for Change.

January 2026 MARKS 10 YEARS

StorySpace Arts (formerly 95 1/2 Main Arts) is an artist and member managed non-profit Artist Collaborative that hosts, develops and sponsors multi-arts incubator spaces, creative arts programs, projects, workshops & circles.

Founded by Executive Director K. Elevitch in 2017, StorySpace Arts prioritizes and amplifies the voices, creative works and stories of women, teens, Black and IPOC, and members of the LGBTQ+ communities.

We partner and collaborate with local artists, arts organizations, collectives and businesses to offer programming and events that help authentically connect us to ourselves and one another, in order to foster community, creativity, social justice awareness, and action.

HOW WE DO THIS

  • Incubator Space Programs

  • Artist Residencies

  • Inclusive & Accessible offerings

  • Leadership Coaching & Mentoring

  • Social Enterprise Business Endeavors & Partnerships

StorySpace Arts fosters organic, authentic and caring relationships with multi-disciplinary artists who also feel called to Lead and give back to their Communities.

We do this by helping to developing artist-led diverse, inclusive & accessible Arts Incubator Space Programs, providing free or barter skill share Artist Residencies at our partner Studios, free Creative Mentoring & Coaching, Non-Profit & For-Profit Business Leadership & Operational Internships, and making their voices & ideas integral to our Organizational Strategic & Operational planning and implementation.

WHERE WE ARE GOING

In 2025, StorySpace Arts re-launched our Artist Showcase Series called The Listening Room, which received a 2025 Arts4All Grant from Arts Council of Rockland.

We also expanded our Inter-Generational Creative Visionary Team of Advisors with two new additions to our Board. We are excited for what 2026 will bring.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

Our partner venue Studio 101 Nyack closed 2/1/26, which has allowed us a moment of pause and rest to reconnect to our personal work, and re-envision our work moving forward together.

Stay tuned for exciting collaborations and sponsorships of programs by the Spring Valley Placemakers and Center for Safety and Change as well as new installments of our Listening Room program.
